The moment we've all been waiting for..... daily itineraries by city! THAT'S RIGHT. I'm bringing you step by step, hour by hour guides on affordable things to do in the city you're in. You're welcome, as always.

Starting off strong with a personal favorite - Malibu, CA! Lucky for you I used to be a Malibu local back in 2018, so some of these spots are hidden gems. Whether you're from the area, or are visiting, this day will be one to remember & won't break the bank.

10:00am

Escondido Falls

27751 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265

Hike at Escondido Falls - this easy, 3.8 mile out & back hike is great for you and your friends, or a date because you won't get too hot & bothered (well from the hike at least). Half the walk is paved and wraps around some of the most insane Malibu mansions and ocean views. Then for about a mile is dirt, leading up to a "waterfall" but more like a water-trickle, still cool though!

This will probably take you about 2 hours, if that. There's a tiny pay to park lot, but park on PCH its 3 steps away and free.

12:00pm

Paradise Cove Beach Cafe

28128 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265

Treat yourself to lunch at Paradise Cove. The staff literally says "Welcome to paradise" and they're not wrong - you transport to a beach front/Cabo style oasis for the next few hours. They have cocktails in pineapples - that's really all you need to be sold on this place. This is also a private beach that you can use if you'd like to hang out, rent some beach toys & stay longer!

ORDER. THE. MEGA. SEAFOOD. MEAT. BBQ. PLATTER. Don't ask questions. Just do it. The food is pretty expensive and the servings could feed a family of 4, so plan on sharing.

Parking is $8 with validation, but PCH is like 2 blocks down the road and since were Broke Bishes, get your steps in.

2:00pm

Beach Swings

22214 Pacific Coast Hwy Malibu, CA 90265

Release your inner child and swing on the hidden swings at Carbon Beach. This is a public beach and the entrance is off PCH, so again park on PCH and walk down. Just type the addy in on Google, park and walk through the entrance between the houses. Walk for 10 minutes to the left and you cannot miss the swings.

Yes, these are attached to houses. Using them is up to your digression, the beach is public so it's not trespassing, but someone owns the swings. idk, blurred lines. Do what makes you comfortable.

3:30pm

Malibu Cafe

327 Latigo Canyon Rd, Malibu, CA 90265

Instagrammable cocktails & charcuterie in Malibu are a MUST. Malibu Cafe (NO NOT MALIBU FARM) is in my top favorite places in existence. I don't know if I can even put it into words.

This is an entirely outdoor, beautiful, Southern BBQ themed dining space with a massive green lawn, fun games (normally XL chess, checkers, etc.), paddle boats, cows, numerous bars, patio seating, mechanical bull riding, wine tastings, ALL THE THINGS YOU COULD EVER DREAM OF. Honestly you could do a day just here and that would be a perfect day in Malibu.

Parking is down a dirt road and I believe valet is free or $3. I suggest bringing a blanket or picnic basket from my picnic blog here for added ambiance.

5:30pm

SUNSET, check your weather app

Live your California dream and cruise PCH, BLASTING Drivers License, Malibu by Miley Cyrus, or whatever gets you going, at sunset. & that's a wrap!
